Daily Living Skills
Building practical skills and routines that support greater independence in everyday life.
Person-centred independent living support
At Medak Independent Living Services, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to build a life shaped by their own goals, choices and strengths.
Support should strengthen choice, confidence and participation—not take control away.
Welcome to Medak
Independence does not look the same for everyone—and support should not either. We take an individualized approach, meeting each person where they are and helping them work toward the goals that matter to them.
Our purpose is not to take over. It is to support, encourage and empower.

The heart behind Medak
Medak Independent Living Services was inspired by founder Christina Savoie’s daughter, Lilah, who has Down syndrome, and by a deeply personal desire to help people like her build meaningful, self-directed lives.
That experience shaped our belief that the right support should help people learn, practise everyday skills, make choices, participate in their communities and grow in confidence—while always being seen as a whole person with their own strengths, personality and dreams.

Our approach
Our approach is built around strengths, preferences, abilities and individual goals. Meaningful support should promote choice, confidence, inclusion and as much independence as possible.
Learn about our approachA place to grow
Growth can mean preparing a meal, navigating the community, developing a routine, making decisions, building relationships or gaining confidence in something new.
“Progress is personal. Support should meet people where they are and help them move toward where they want to be.”
