Our approach

Support That Works With You—Not Around You.

Meaningful support begins with listening. Our approach respects the individual’s voice, strengths, preferences and goals.

Person-Centred

The individual is at the centre of the support relationship. Their goals, preferences, strengths, communication style and comfort level should help shape how support is provided.

Strengths-Based

We begin with what a person can do and build from there. Support should recognize capability and create opportunities to practise new skills rather than assuming inability.

Choice & Self-Determination

Whenever possible, individuals should have meaningful choices about their routines, goals and the support they receive. Independence includes having a voice.

Building Skills, Not Dependence

Good support should help a person do more for themselves where possible. We encourage learning, practice, confidence and problem-solving rather than unnecessarily doing tasks for someone.

Community Inclusion

People deserve opportunities to participate, contribute, build relationships and feel that they belong in their communities.

Respectful Collaboration

Support can involve families, caregivers, professionals and community partners, while remaining respectful of the individual’s privacy, preferences, rights and role in decisions.

Progress Is Personal

There is no universal timeline for independence. We value progress that is realistic, individual and sustainable.
